Biography

The designer behind Dhini is Australian, Dhini Pararajasingham. With a background in Marketing, in 2000 she set her sights on Tokyo, Japan to undertake an influential Certificate in Fashion Design. On completion of this, Dhini returned to Australia where she went on to obtain a BA in Fashion Design from the prestigious Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in 2003. Her graduate collection was recognised for excellence by renowned Melbourne boutique, Alice Euphemia, when she was awarded the Alice Euphemia Most Promising Student Award. The boutique went on to hold an exhibition of her complete collection in-store during L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, 2004.

Dhini's expertise lie in tailoring and hand couture. During the course of her BA degree, she trained with eminent Australian bridal designer, Marianna Harkwick where she gained valuable skills in couture. Following this, she had the privilege of training with a tailoress and couturier from the Australian Opera. 

Immediately after her degree in Melbourne, Dhini moved to London in 2004 to take up a position as Design Assistant with reputable London label, B O U D I CC A. Here she assisted the designers in producing their Autumn / Winter colleciton for London Fashion and Paris Fashion Week. Following this , Dhini progressed to Production and Manufacturing Assistant at B O U D I CC A.

With valuable skills and experience gained at B O U D I CC A, Dhini decided to set off for greater challenges. Consequently, London Fashion Week February 2005 saw the successful launch of Dhini's signature label.
